How to analyse crypto spot markets: a repeatable workflow
Build a crypto analysis workflow using market context, price structure, order flow and trading costs. Separate a watchlist candidate from an entry.

Before opening another indicator, write down the decision you are trying to make. Looking for a short rebound is different from managing a position over several days. This guide describes a repeatable way to investigate a spot-market setup; it does not claim that the process has a guaranteed win rate.
Define the horizon and the market you can actually trade
Start with the asset, quote currency, venue and intended holding period. Read closed daily and 4-hour candles for broader structure, then use shorter intervals to inspect timing. A chart from a liquid USDT market may be informative, but it is not an executable USDC quote from another venue. Record the source and timestamp before comparing prices. A rising five-minute candle does not by itself reverse a daily downtrend.
Turn the chart into a testable scenario
Mark a range, a nearby reaction zone and the condition that would invalidate your idea. For example, a hypothetical range between 98 and 102 is not a prediction: it is a reference for asking whether price is accepted above 102 or returns inside the range. Write the condition before the move. That makes later review more useful than adding an explanation after seeing the outcome.
Check independent evidence and the full round trip
Price, executed trades and resting liquidity answer different questions. Bybit documents trade direction and order-book updates separately; a displayed bid wall is not evidence of completed buying. Check that the feed is fresh, then include both trading fees, spread and a slippage allowance. An illustrative gross move of 1% with estimated round-trip costs of 0.6% leaves only about 0.4% before other effects, not a clean 1% opportunity.
Record the decision, including reasons to wait
Keep the observed price, time, conditions, estimated costs and reason for acting or waiting. Later compare the outcome with the original hypothesis, not a revised target. A useful journal also records false alarms and missed moves. In HOSTuvo, broad discovery, tactical PRE-MOVE and the main swing assessment are separate layers. A high ranking is a request for further investigation, not proof that an entry has passed every check.
Make the question measurable
A useful research question specifies an asset, executable market, decision time and outcome window. “Will this rise?” leaves all four open. “Does a close above the previous hourly range precede a move large enough to exceed estimated round-trip costs within 90 minutes?” can be checked. Define the failure outcome as carefully as the success outcome. A temporary rise followed by a deeper decline is different from reaching an upside barrier before a downside barrier. This distinction prevents a chart annotation made afterwards from becoming an apparent forecast.
Hypothetical comparison of two opportunities
Suppose candidate A has a possible 1.0% move with estimated round-trip costs of 0.35%, while candidate B offers 0.7% with costs of 0.10%. Simple subtraction leaves 0.65% and 0.60%, respectively, before forecast error; it does not prove A is better. A may have a much larger adverse path or an unreliable book. Record both opportunities at the same timestamp and retain the rejected one. Otherwise a later review sees only selected winners and cannot explain whether the selection itself added value.
Turn the workflow into a useful journal
For each observation, save the reason for interest, the price source, the invalidation condition and what would make you wait. Later add the observed path without replacing the original forecast. Distinguish an incorrect direction from a correct direction with an unusable entry, and distinguish both from an unavailable feed. Review a fixed set of observations, including quiet periods. This creates a practical feedback loop: one can improve a specific weak step, such as spread estimation, instead of repeatedly replacing the entire strategy after a small losing sample.

IN HOSTuvo
See this context in the live terminal.
HOSTuvo brings scanner results, charts, flow and costs into one workspace. Read the status, missing confirmations and data timestamp together. Research-only outputs do not execute orders.
